Measures For Lessening Cracks On Wire Rod Surface

01/19/2024

Many cracks on the wire surface are coused by the transverse and longitudinal cracks of billets and rolling process, that can reduce the generation of cracks on wire rod surface through the control the quality of raw materials and proper rolling operation procedure.

1 Billet surface longitudinal cracks, transverse cracks should be within the allowable range, the depth of cracks should be controlled within 0.4mm.

2 To ensure that the online cooling water pressure, water volume up to standard in order to prevent the lack of cooling water, rolls over the cycle of use and material and other reasons easily caused by the roll surface cracks.

3 Due to the different material spread coefficients are different, there will be a wide spread over the situation, resulting in rolling parts scraping guide lining plate and guide wheel, in the finished product surface will appear more than fine cracks. When replacing the roll material, you need to adjust the corresponding size according to different friction coefficients to prevent the rolled parts from being too wide.

4 Roll gaskets should be assembled in strict accordance with the standard, while regularly checking the roll gaskets and gaskets on the mill plaque wear, whether there is any abnormality can be reflected from the rolling line alignment. Vertical mill entrance rolling guide and roll hole type is not centred, the guide guide guide wheel wear is extremely serious, causing scratches on the rolled parts, the finished product to produce crack defects.

5 Guides should be replaced according to the cycle, strictly prohibit using wrong roll and guide wheel is bias and other phenomena. Sliding friction produces serious scratches mainly in large-size soft wire. Due to the self-weight of the steel problem, and the guide to produce scratch, in the finished product is short and thick defects. Adopting the rolling guide instead of sliding guide can effectively reduce the generation of scraches.
