Correct Use Of Roller Rings

01/15/2024

In production operation, some methods are useful for increasing the life of roller ring, if the operators pay attention on need to know correct

To select suitable roller rings

The hardness and wear resistance of the roll ring comes from tungsten carbide, while the toughness and strength depend on the bonded phase metal. High content of bonded phase, good toughness and strength, good resistance to impact and thermal cracking ability, suitable for rolling force and mill precision requirements of poor front rack; high content of tungsten carbide, good hardness and wear resistance, toughness and strength is relatively poor, suitable for rolling force is small, high mill precision of the back of the rack to ensure the dimensional accuracy of the finished product. The addition of Ni and Cr elements to cemented carbide roll ring can significantly change the oxidation resistance of cemented carbide when exposed to air at 700-1000℃, and the corrosion resistance in acidic solution can be improved accordingly, and it can also improve the high temperature performance of cemented carbide, so that the alloy has a high resistance to thermal cracking and corrosion resistance. It is suitable for slightly acidic environment with PH≤7.2 and under high rolling speed.

Use cooling water with excellent water quality to avoid abrasion of the roll ring

The solid particles in the cooling water act as abrasives in rolling, and have an abrasive effect on the roll ring. Due to the high rolling speed and high rolling pressure, the microcracks in the rolling groove will be expanded or prolonged.

Attention the performance of rolls

 Rolling groove micro-cracks reach 0.2 ~ 0.4mm should be off-line grinding.

Correct roll assembly

Roll taper sleeve assembly should be strictly in accordance with the accuracy of the design process requirements, among the rolls and rack roll axis and taper sleeve assembly is appropriate, not loose or too tight. In the assembly, rolls, shafts and sleeves surface should be cleaned with detergent, there is no oil, no rust and other debris; strictly prohibited with a hammer and other heavy knocking, in order to prevent damage to the assembly surface.
