Three Rolling process schedules refer to deformation system, rolling speed system and rolling temperature system.
Under certain rolling conditions, the deforming course from materials to final products is called transformation system, its main content is to define total deflection and pass deflection. Distribution of the deflection is a major parameter and as main basis when equipment selection and roll design. The deflection system plays an important role in mill capacity and product quality. In rolling process like reduction schedule of roughing mill, pass design of section mill, reduction schedule of plat rolling and partial content of tube rolling table belong to the deformation system. The Pass design contains determination of rolling pass, distribution of extension factors, section pass design and roll pass design.
The speed system is mainly to define rolling speed, that is to decide the rolling pass of each pass and its speed at different phases. High rolling speed leads to high mill capacity. Therefore, the main means to improve productivity is to increase rolling speed. High rolling speed will be limited by mill structure and strength, motor capacity and automation level factors. The speed system includes speed schedule of roughing mill and determination of speed of each stand of continuous mill.
There are different regulations for rolling speed by type of the mill. For the continuous mill shall ensure that each stand has equal metal second flow through regulating speed of each mill.
The temperature system regulates temperature scope, that is opening rolling and final rolling temperature. The temperature schedule will directly influence mill capacity, equipment safety and product quality.
The above three systems are interrelated and restrict each other.
