What are the main characteristics of compact rolling mills?
Compact hot rolling mills have high rolling reduction, its main features are as follows.
The spacing of mills is small, and the former mill pushes the piece into the latter mill to achieve forced nibbling, so as to carry out a large rolling reduction.
Mills train usually consists of 4, 5 or 6 mills by H/V alternating arrangement.
Each roll barrel only has one pass pattern (or single pass flat roll rolling).
Because of the use of large press down, so under the same conditions, compared with the ordinary type of two-roll mill, it can save 1 or 2 rolling mill.
The frame is a short stress line structure or cantilever roll structure.
Because there is large rolling reduction, in case of improper adjustment, steel pieces will pile up between mill stands easily, thus this kind of mill will be less convenient on adjustment and accident handling.
Each stand of the compact mills is driven separately, and it adopts high precision transmission control. Its rolling process has no twisting and no looper.
